"THE WORLD RUNS ON PHOTOS."

My name is Brady Scott. I am a 20 year old sports and portrait photographer from Howard County, Maryland.

THE REASON

Q: "Why is your focus with your photography on the sport of running? I know you participated in cross country and track events when you were very little and ran for your high school's track team during your junior year, but you weren't ever good at it, so what's your connection to the sport? Why running?"

A: I wouldn't have been able to answer your question a year ago but now I can proudly say that I know the answer. I see myself in these people symbolically. I'm a runner. Not physically, but mentally. I feel that my entire life is going too fast, I'm going way too fast. I am constantly trying to outrun the past versions of me that are trying to eat me alive. Those versions of me are very sad people. They woke up everyday knowing that no matter what they did to feel better, they would always feel hopeless by the night. I'd love to run away from these past versions of me and just forget them but I have learned that I can't. I have to accept them and run along side them. I've always said the art of photography was a way to express myself and the emotions that conquer my brain but I never truly understood what I meant by that until now. I am the people in my photos. We are always trying to run away from the things inside of our minds that bring us pain but as we grow older, we're all learning that we have to face our brains. We have to learn to run along side our minds.
